Remote working has many benefits such as less stress, flexible schedules and more time for other activities. However, if there is not a balance between work and personal life, this can affect both our physical and mental health. In this blog we share useful tips to set healthy limits in your remote work.
1. Setting personal goals
It's important to first establish our own goals and organize them. You will know that you are in the right job if it helps you achieve all or some of your goals. Separating your personal goals from your work goals will help you organize your time and not lose focus on any of them.
2. Track your time
When working remotely it is essential to keep a record of your worked hours, this will allow you to know if you are working more or less hours than agreed and will also help you procrastinate less.
3. Have a weekly call with your team
At the beginning of each week you should set goals and organize your tasks by priorities so that at the end of the week you can evaluate them. It is important that you do this together with your boss or the rest of the team so that everyone is aware of your tasks. Don't set more goals than you can do and if you have problem there's any goal , try to talk about them with the team so they can solve them together.
4. Take Your Days Off Seriously
Both mind and body need rest to be more productive. A balance of work and personal life are vital to stay healthy and motivated. Sometimes when working from home it can be very easy to work after hours but avoid doing this as you only prejudice yourself.
5. Maintain effective communication
Express yourself if something make you feel uncomfortable. Communication in remote work should not be limited, thanks to technology and the many tools that exist you will be able to have a constant communication with your bosses and co-workers. If you feel that something is not right or you find yourself with some difficulty that you feel you can't solve, talk and ask for advice, find a solution together with your team.
